5:1-12 = Penyunatan dan hari raya Paskah di Gilgal
(1) Ketika semua raja orang Amori di sebelah barat sungai Yordan dan semua raja orang Kanaan di tepi laut mendengar, bahwa TUHAN telah mengeringkan air sungai Yordan di depan orang Israel, sampai mereka dapat menyeberang, tawarlah hati mereka dan hilanglah semangat mereka menghadapi orang Israel itu.
(1) 이처럼 여호와께서는 이스라엘 사람들이 강을 건널 때까지 요단 강을 마르게 하셨습니다. 그 때, 요단 강 서쪽에 사는 아모리 사람의 모든 왕들과 또 지중해 가까이에 사는 가나안 왕들도 그 이야기를 듣게 되었습니다. 그들은 그 이야기를 들은 후 몹시 두려워했고, 이스라엘 사람들과 마주치는 것을 너무나 무서워하게 되었습니다.
(1) {Israel Is Circumcised}Now it happened when all the kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan to the west, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of the Jordan before the Israelites until they had crossed over, their hearts melted [in despair], and there was no [fighting] spirit in them any longer because of the Israelites [and what God had done for them].
(2) Pada waktu itu berfirmanlah TUHAN kepada Yosua: "Buatlah pisau dari batu dan sunatlah lagi orang Israel itu, untuk kedua kalinya."
(2) 그 때, 여호와께서 여호수아에게 말씀하셨습니다. “부싯돌로 칼을 만들어서 이스라엘 사람들에게 다시 할례를 행하여라.”
(2) At that time the LORD said to Joshua, "Make for yourself flint knives and circumcise the [new generation of the] sons of Israel as [was done] before."
(3) Lalu Yosua membuat pisau dari batu dan disunatnyalah orang Israel itu di Bukit Kulit Khatan.
(3) 그래서 여호수아는 부싯돌로 칼을 만들어 기브앗 하아라롯에서 이스라엘 사람들에게 할례를 베풀었습니다.
(3) So Joshua made flint knives and circumcised the sons of Israel at Gibeath-haaraloth.
(4) Inilah sebabnya Yosua menyunat mereka: semua orang yang keluar dari Mesir, yakni yang laki-laki, semua prajurit, telah mati di padang gurun di tengah jalan, setelah mereka keluar dari Mesir.
(4) 여호수아가 남자들에게 할례를 베푼 이유는 이러합니다. 이스라엘 사람들이 이집트를 떠난 이후, 군대에서 일할 만큼 나이가 든 남자들은 광야에서 모두 죽었습니다.
(4) This is the reason why Joshua circumcised them: all the people who came out of Egypt who were males, all the men of war, had died in the wilderness along the way after they left Egypt.
(5) Sebab, semua orang yang keluar dari Mesir itu telah bersunat, tetapi semua orang yang lahir di padang gurun dalam perjalanan sejak keluar dari Mesir, belum disunat.
(5) 이집트에서 나온 남자들은 할례를 받았으나 광야에서 태어난 많은 아이들은 할례를 받지 않았습니다.
(5) All the males who came out were circumcised, but all the males who were born in the wilderness on the way as they left Egypt had not been circumcised.
(6) Sebab empat puluh tahun lamanya orang Israel itu berjalan melalui padang gurun, sampai habis mati seluruh bangsa itu, yakni prajurit yang keluar dari Mesir, yang tidak mendengarkan firman TUHAN. Kepada mereka itu TUHAN telah bersumpah, bahwa Ia tidak akan mengizinkan mereka melihat negeri yang dijanjikan TUHAN dengan bersumpah kepada nenek moyang mereka akan memberikannya kepada kita, suatu negeri yang berlimpah-limpah susu dan madunya.
(6) 이스라엘 사람들은 광야에서 사십 년 동안을 옮겨다녔고 그 동안, 이집트에서 나온 사람 가운데 싸울 수 있는 남자들은 다 죽었습니다. 그것은 그들이 여호와께 순종하지 않았기 때문입니다. 그래서 주께서는 그들이 가나안 땅을 볼 수 없을 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그 땅은 여호와께서 그들의 조상들에게 주기로 약속하셨던 땅이었고, 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 비옥한 땅이었습니다.
(6) For the Israelites walked forty years in the wilderness, until all the nation, that is, the men of war who came out of Egypt, died because they did not listen to the voice of the LORD; to them the LORD had sworn [an oath] that He would not let them see the land which He had promised to their fathers to give us, a land [of abundance] flowing with milk and honey.
(7) Tetapi anak-anak mereka yang telah dijadikan-Nya ganti mereka, mereka itulah yang disunat Yosua, sebab mereka belum bersunat, karena mereka tidak disunat dalam perjalanan.
(7) 마침내 그들의 자손들이 그 땅을 차지하게 되었으나, 광야에서 태어난 자손들 중에는 할례를 받은 사람이 하나도 없었기 때문에 여호수아는 그들에게 할례를 베풀었습니다.
(7) So it was their uncircumcised sons whom He raised up in their place, whom Joshua circumcised, because circumcision had not been performed on the way.
(8) Setelah seluruh bangsa itu selesai disunat, maka tinggallah mereka di tempatnya masing-masing di perkemahan itu, sampai mereka sembuh.
(8) 할례를 받은 모든 이스라엘 사람들은 상처가 아물 때까지 그들의 진에 머물러 있었습니다.
(8) Then, when they had finished circumcising all [the males of] the nation, they stayed in their places in the camp until they were healed.
(9) Dan berfirmanlah TUHAN kepada Yosua: "Hari ini telah Kuhapuskan cela Mesir itu dari padamu." Itulah sebabnya nama tempat itu disebut Gilgal sampai sekarang.
(9) 그 때에 여호와께서 여호수아에게 말씀하셨습니다. “너희는 이집트에서 노예로 있으면서 부끄러움을 당했다. 그러나 오늘날 내가 그 부끄러움을 없애 버리겠다.” 그래서 여호수아는 그 곳의 이름을 길갈이라고 불렀고, 지금까지도 길갈이라는 이름으로 불리고 있습니다.
(9) Then the LORD said to Joshua, "This day I have rolled away the reproach (derision, ridicule) of Egypt from you." So the name of that place is called Gilgal (rolling) to this day.
(10) Sementara berkemah di Gilgal, orang Israel itu merayakan Paskah pada hari yang keempat belas bulan itu, pada waktu petang, di dataran Yerikho.
(10) 여리고 평야에 있는 길갈에서 진을 치고 있었던 이스라엘 백성들은, 그 달 십사 일 저녁에 그 곳에서 유월절을 지켰습니다.
(10) While the Israelites camped at Gilgal they observed the Passover on the evening of the fourteenth day of the month on the desert plains of Jericho.
(11) Lalu pada hari sesudah Paskah mereka makan hasil negeri itu, yakni roti yang tidak beragi dan bertih gandum, pada hari itu juga.
(11) 유월절 이튿날, 백성들은 그 땅에서 자라난 식물 중 몇 가지를 먹었는데, 그것은 누룩을 넣지 않고 만든 빵인 무교병과 볶은 곡식이었습니다.
(11) On the day after Passover, on that very day, they ate some of the produce of the land, unleavened bread, and roasted grain.
(12) Lalu berhentilah manna itu, pada keesokan harinya setelah mereka makan hasil negeri itu. Jadi orang Israel tidak beroleh manna lagi, tetapi dalam tahun itu mereka makan yang dihasilkan tanah Kanaan.
(12) 이 음식을 먹은 그 날부터 만나는 더 이상 내리지 않았습니다. 이스라엘 사람들은 그 날 이후 만나를 먹을 수 없었기 때문에 가나안 땅에서 나는 것을 먹기 시작했습니다.
(12) And the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten some of the produce of the land, so that the Israelites no longer had manna, but they ate some of the produce of the land of Canaan during that year.
5:13-15 = Panglima Balatentara TUHAN
(13) Ketika Yosua dekat Yerikho, ia melayangkan pandangnya, dilihatnya seorang laki-laki berdiri di depannya dengan pedang terhunus di tangannya. Yosua mendekatinya dan bertanya kepadanya: "Kawankah engkau atau lawan?"
(13) 여호수아가 여리고 근처에 있었을 때, 눈을 들어 보니 어떤 사람이 자기 앞에 칼을 들고 서 있는 것이 보였습니다. 여호수아는 그에게 다가가 “당신은 우리 편이요, 아니면 적의 편이요?”라고 물었습니다.
(13) Now when Joshua was by Jericho, he looked up, and behold, a man was standing opposite him with his drawn sword in his hand, and Joshua went to him and said to him, "Are you for us or for our adversaries?"
(14) Jawabnya: "Bukan, tetapi akulah Panglima Balatentara TUHAN. Sekarang aku datang." Lalu sujudlah Yosua dengan mukanya ke tanah, menyembah dan berkata kepadanya: "Apakah yang akan dikatakan tuanku kepada hambanya ini?"
(14) 그 사람은 “나는 누구의 편도 아니다. 나는 여호와의 군대 사령관으로 왔다”고 대답했습니다. 그러자 여호수아는 땅에 엎드려, 그에게 물었습니다. “주의 종인 저에게 하실 말씀이 무엇입니까?”
(14) He said, "No; rather I have come now as captain of the army of the LORD." Then Joshua fell with his face toward the earth and bowed down, and said to him, "What does my lord have to say to his servant?"
(15) Dan Panglima Balatentara TUHAN itu berkata kepada Yosua: "Tanggalkanlah kasutmu dari kakimu, sebab tempat engkau berdiri itu kudus." Dan Yosua berbuat demikian.
(15) 여호와의 군대 사령관은 “너의 신을 벗어라. 네가 서 있는 곳은 거룩한 곳이다”라고 말했습니다. 여호수아는 그의 말대로 했습니다.
(15) The captain of the Lord's army said to Joshua, "Remove your sandals from your feet, because the place where you are standing is holy (set apart to the LORD)." And Joshua did so.
