(1) Kemudian Rehabeam pergi ke Sikhem, sebab seluruh Israel telah datang ke Sikhem untuk menobatkan dia menjadi raja.
(1) 온 이스라엘이 르호보암을 왕으로 세우려고 세겜에 모였습니다. 르호보암도 세겜으로 갔습니다.
(1) {King Rehoboam Acts Foolishly}Rehoboam went to Shechem, for all Israel had come to Shechem to make him king.
(2) Segera sesudah hal itu kedengaran kepada Yerobeam bin Nebat--pada waktu itu dia masih ada di Mesir, sebab ia melarikan diri ke sana dari hadapan raja Salomo--maka kembalilah ia dari Mesir.
(2) 솔로몬을 피해서 이집트로 도망쳤던 느밧의 아들 여로보암은 이집트에 있을 때에 르호보암이 왕이 되었다는 소식을 들었습니다.
(2) Now when Jeroboam the son of Nebat heard about it, he was living in Egypt (for he was still in Egypt, where he had fled from King Solomon).
(3) Orang menyuruh memanggil dia, lalu datanglah Yerobeam dengan segenap jemaah Israel dan berkata kepada Rehabeam:
(3) 그러자 이스라엘 백성들은 여로보암을 불렀습니다. 여로보암이 이스라엘 모든 무리와 함께 르호보암에게 가서 말했습니다.
(3) So they sent word and called for him, and Jeroboam and all the assembly of Israel came and spoke to Rehoboam, saying,
(4) Ayahmu telah memberatkan tanggungan kami, maka sekarang ringankanlah pekerjaan yang sukar yang dibebankan ayahmu dan tanggungan yang berat yang dipikulkannya kepada kami, supaya kami menjadi hambamu.
(4) “왕의 아버지는 우리에게 매우 고된 일을 시켰습니다. 이제 우리의 일을 좀 덜어 주십시오. 왕의 아버지처럼 우리에게 고된 일을 시키지 마십시오. 그렇게 해 주시면 왕을 섬기겠습니다.”
(4) "Your father made our yoke (burden) heavy; so now lighten the hard labor and the heavy yoke your father imposed on us, and we will serve you."
(5) Tetapi ia menjawab mereka: "Pergilah sampai lusa, kemudian kembalilah kepadaku." Lalu pergilah rakyat itu.
(5) 르호보암이 대답했습니다. “삼 일 뒤에 다시 오너라. 그 때에 대답해 주겠다.” 그래서 백성은 그 자리를 떠났습니다.
(5) Rehoboam replied to them, "Leave for three days, then come back to me [for my decision]." So the people left.
(6) Sesudah itu Rehabeam meminta nasihat dari para tua-tua yang selama hidup Salomo mendampingi Salomo, ayahnya, katanya: "Apakah nasihatmu untuk menjawab rakyat itu?"
(6) 르호보암 왕은 솔로몬을 섬겼던 나이 든 지도자들과 의논했습니다. “이 백성에게 어떻게 대답하면 좋겠소?”
(6) King Rehoboam consulted with the elders who had served and advised his father Solomon while he was still alive and said, "How do you advise me to answer this people?"
(7) Mereka berkata: "Jika hari ini engkau mau menjadi hamba rakyat, mau mengabdi kepada mereka dan menjawab mereka dengan kata-kata yang baik, maka mereka menjadi hamba-hambamu sepanjang waktu."
(7) 그들이 대답했습니다. “왕은 오늘 이 백성들에게 종이 하는 것처럼 그들을 섬겨야 합니다. 그들에게 친절한 말로 대답해 주십시오. 그러면 그들이 언제나 왕을 섬길 것입니다.”
(7) They spoke to him, saying, "If you will be a servant to this people today, and will serve them and grant their request, and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants forever."
(8) Tetapi ia mengabaikan nasihat yang diberikan para tua-tua itu, lalu ia meminta nasihat kepada orang-orang muda yang sebaya dengan dia dan yang mendampinginya,
(8) 그러나 르호보암은 그들의 충고를 듣지 않고, 자기와 함께 자라 자기를 섬기고 있는 젊은 사람들과 의논을 했습니다.
(8) But he ignored the advice which the elders gave him and consulted the young men who grew up with him and served him.
(9) katanya kepada mereka: "Apakah nasihatmu, supaya kita dapat menjawab rakyat yang mengatakan kepadaku: Ringankanlah tanggungan yang dipikulkan kepada kami oleh ayahmu?"
(9) 르호보암이 그들에게 말했습니다. “백성이 ‘왕의 아버지처럼 우리에게 고된 일을 시키지 마십시오’라고 말하고 있는데, 내가 어떻게 대답하면 좋겠소? 그대들의 생각은 어떠하오?”
(9) He said to them, "What do you advise that we answer this people who have said to me, 'Lighten the yoke (burden) which your father put on us'?"
(10) Lalu orang-orang muda yang sebaya dengan dia itu berkata: "Beginilah harus kaukatakan kepada rakyat yang telah berkata kepadamu: Ayahmu telah memberatkan tanggungan kami, tetapi engkau ini, berilah keringanan kepada kami--beginilah harus kaukatakan kepada mereka: Kelingkingku lebih besar dari pada pinggang ayahku!
(10) 왕과 함께 자란 젊은 사람들이 대답했습니다. “이 백성이 왕에게 ‘왕의 아버지는 우리에게 매우 고된 일을 시켰지만 왕은 우리의 일을 덜어 주십시오’라고 말했습니다. 그러니 왕은 이렇게 말하십시오. ‘내 새끼 손가락은 내 아버지의 허리보다 더 굵다.
(10) The young men who had grown up with him answered, "This is what you should say to this people who told you, 'Your father made our yoke heavy, but as for you, make our yoke lighter'—say this to them: 'My little finger is thicker than my father's loins [and my reign will be even more severe].
(11) Maka sekarang, ayahku telah membebankan kepada kamu tanggungan yang berat, tetapi aku akan menambah tanggungan kamu; ayahku telah menghajar kamu dengan cambuk, tetapi aku akan menghajar kamu dengan cambuk yang berduri besi."
(11) 내 아버지는 너희에게 고된 일을 시켰지만, 나는 너희에게 훨씬 더 고된 일을 시키겠다. 내 아버지는 너희를 가죽 채찍으로 쳤지만, 나는 너희를 가시 돋친 채찍으로 치겠다.’”
(11) And now, whereas my father loaded you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke. My father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with scorpions.'"
(12) Pada hari lusanya datanglah Yerobeam dengan segenap rakyat kepada Rehabeam, seperti yang dikatakan raja: "Kembalilah kepadaku pada hari lusa."
(12) 르호보암이 백성에게 “삼 일 뒤에 다시 오라”고 말했으므로, 모든 백성이 삼 일 뒤에 다시 르호보암에게 왔습니다.
(12) Jeroboam and all the people came back to Rehoboam on the third day, just as the king had instructed, saying, "Return to me on the third day."
(13) Raja menjawab rakyat itu dengan keras; ia telah mengabaikan nasihat yang diberikan para tua-tua kepadanya;
(13) 르호보암 왕은 백성에게 무자비한 말을 했습니다. 르호보암은 나이 든 지도자들의 충고를 듣지 않고
(13) The king answered the people harshly and ignored the advice which the elders had given him,
(14) ia mengatakan kepada mereka menurut nasihat orang-orang muda: "Ayahku telah memberatkan tanggungan kamu, tetapi aku akan menambah tanggunganmu itu; ayahku telah menghajar kamu dengan cambuk, tetapi aku akan menghajar kamu dengan cambuk yang berduri besi."
(14) 젊은 사람들이 일러 준 대로 말했습니다. “내 아버지는 너희에게 힘든 일을 시켰지만, 나는 너희에게 훨씬 더 힘든 일을 시키겠다. 내 아버지는 너희를 가죽 채찍으로 쳤지만, 나는 너희를 가시 돋친 채찍으로 치겠다.”
(14) and spoke to them in accordance with the advice of the young men, saying, "My father made your yoke heavy, but as for me, I will add to your yoke; my father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with scorpions."
(15) Jadi raja tidak mendengarkan permintaan rakyat, sebab hal itu merupakan perubahan yang disebabkan TUHAN, supaya TUHAN menepati firman yang diucapkan-Nya dengan perantaraan Ahia, orang Silo, kepada Yerobeam bin Nebat.
(15) 이처럼 르호보암 왕은 백성이 원하는 것을 들어 주지 않았습니다. 이 일은 여호와께서 그렇게 되도록 하신 것이었는데, 이는 실로 사람 아히야를 통해 느밧의 아들 여로보암에게 하신 약속을 이루시기 위함이었습니다.
(15) So the king did not listen to the people; for the situation was from the LORD, so that He might fulfill His word which He spoke through Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
(16) Setelah seluruh Israel melihat, bahwa raja tidak mendengarkan permintaan mereka, maka rakyat menjawab raja: "Bagian apakah kita dapat dari pada Daud? Kita tidak memperoleh warisan dari anak Isai itu! Ke kemahmu, hai orang Israel! Uruslah sekarang rumahmu sendiri, hai Daud!" Maka pergilah orang Israel ke kemahnya,
(16) 이스라엘 모든 백성은 새 왕이 자기들의 말을 듣지 않으려는 것을 보고 왕에게 이렇게 대답했습니다. “우리가 다윗과 무슨 관계가 있느냐? 우리는 이새의 아들과 상관이 없다. 이스라엘 백성아, 우리 집으로 돌아가자. 다윗의 아들이여, 이제 네 가족이나 다스려라.” 이스라엘 백성은 집으로 돌아갔습니다.
(16) {The Kingdom Divided; Jeroboam Rules Israel}So when all [the ten northern tribes of] Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, the people replied to the king, saying, "What portion do we have in David? We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse; To your tents, O Israel! Look now after your own house, David!" Then Israel went back to their tents.
(17) sehingga Rehabeam menjadi raja hanya atas orang Israel yang diam di kota-kota Yehuda.
(17) 그러나 유다의 여러 마을에 사는 이스라엘 백성만은 르호보암을 왕으로 섬겼습니다.
(17) But as for the sons (descendants) of Israel who lived in the cities of Judah [including Benjamin], Rehoboam reigned over them.
(18) Kemudian raja Rehabeam mengutus Adoram yang menjadi kepala rodi, tetapi seluruh Israel melontari dia dengan batu, sehingga mati, bahkan raja Rehabeam hampir-hampir tidak dapat menaiki keretanya untuk melarikan diri ke Yerusalem.
(18) 아도니람은 강제로 동원된 일꾼들을 감독하는 사람이었습니다. 르호보암 왕이 아도니람을 백성에게 보냈습니다. 모든 이스라엘 백성이 돌을 던져 아도니람을 죽였습니다. 그러자 르호보암 왕은 서둘러 수레를 타고 예루살렘으로 도망쳤습니다.
(18) Then King Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was in charge of the forced labor [to represent him], and all Israel stoned him to death. And King Rehoboam quickly mounted his chariot to escape to Jerusalem.
(19) Demikianlah mulanya orang Israel memberontak terhadap keluarga Daud sampai hari ini.
(19) 그 때부터 이스라엘은 다윗의 집안을 반역하기 시작하여 오늘날까지 이르게 되었습니다.
(19) So Israel (the ten northern tribes) has rebelled against the house (royal line) of David to this day (the date of this writing).
(20) Segera sesudah seluruh Israel mendengar, bahwa Yerobeam sudah pulang, maka mereka menyuruh memanggil dia ke pertemuan jemaah, lalu mereka menobatkan dia menjadi raja atas seluruh Israel. Tidak ada lagi yang mengikuti keluarga Daud selain dari suku Yehuda saja.
(20) 모든 이스라엘 백성은 여로보암이 돌아왔다는 소식을 듣고 사람을 보내어 그를 이스라엘 백성의 모임에 나오게 하였습니다. 그들은 그를 온 이스라엘의 왕으로 세웠습니다. 그러나 유다 지파는 여전히 다윗의 집안을 따랐습니다.
(20) It came about when all Israel heard that Jeroboam had returned, that they sent word and called him to the assembly and made him king over all Israel. None followed the house of David except the tribe of Judah [including Benjamin].
(21) Ketika Rehabeam datang ke Yerusalem, ia mengumpulkan segenap kaum Yehuda dan suku Benyamin, seratus delapan puluh ribu teruna yang sanggup berperang untuk memerangi kaum Israel dengan maksud mengembalikan kerajaan itu kepada Rehabeam, anak Salomo.
(21) 르호보암은 예루살렘에 이르러서 유다와 베냐민 지파를 모았습니다. 그러자 십팔만 명의 군사가 모였습니다. 르호보암은 이스라엘 백성과 싸워 자기 나라를 되찾으려 했습니다.
(21) Now when Rehoboam arrived in Jerusalem, he assembled all the [fighting men from the] house of Judah, with the tribe of Benjamin, 180,000 chosen warriors, to fight against the house of Israel to bring the kingdom back to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.
(22) Tetapi datanglah firman Allah kepada Semaya, abdi Allah, demikian:
(22) 하나님께서 하나님의 사람 스마야에게 말씀하셨습니다.
(22) But the word of God came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
(23) Katakanlah kepada Rehabeam, anak Salomo, raja Yehuda, dan kepada segenap kaum Yehuda dan Benyamin dan kepada selebihnya dari bangsa itu:
(23) “유다 왕 솔로몬의 아들 르호보암에게 전하여라. 그리고 유다와 베냐민 백성과 그 밖의 모든 백성에게 전하여라.
(23) "Tell Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and all the house (fighting men) of Judah and Benjamin and the rest of the people,
(24) Beginilah firman TUHAN: Janganlah kamu maju dan janganlah kamu berperang melawan saudara-saudaramu, orang Israel. Pulanglah masing-masing ke rumahnya, sebab Akulah yang menyebabkan hal ini terjadi." Maka mereka mendengarkan firman TUHAN dan pergilah mereka pulang sesuai dengan firman TUHAN itu.
(24) ‘너는 너희 형제인 이스라엘 백성과 싸우러 나가지 마라. 모두 집으로 돌아가거라. 이 일은 나의 뜻대로 된 일이다.’” 그러자 르호보암의 군대 사람들은 여호와의 명령에 복종했습니다. 그들은 여호와의 말씀대로 모두 집으로 돌아갔습니다.
(24) 'Thus says the LORD, "You shall not go up and fight against your brothers, the sons of Israel. Let every man return to his house, for this thing has come about from Me."'" So they listened to the word of the LORD and returned to go home, in accordance with the word of the LORD.

(25) Kemudian Yerobeam memperkuat Sikhem di pegunungan Efraim, lalu diam di sana. Ia keluar dari sana, lalu memperkuat Pnuel.
(25) 여로보암은 에브라임 산지에 있는 세겜 성을 건축하고 그 곳에서 살았습니다. 그리고 그 곳에서 나와 부느엘 성을 세웠습니다.
(25) {Jeroboam's Idolatry}Then Jeroboam built Shechem [as his royal city] in the hill country of Ephraim and lived there. He went out from there and rebuilt Penuel [as a stronghold].
(26) Maka berkatalah Yerobeam dalam hatinya: "Kini mungkin kerajaan itu kembali kepada keluarga Daud.
(26) 여로보암이 속으로 생각했습니다. ‘이 나라가 다시 다윗의 집으로 돌아갈지도 모르겠다.
(26) Jeroboam [doubted God's promise to him and] said in his heart, "Now the kingdom will return to the house of David.
(27) Jika bangsa itu pergi mempersembahkan korban sembelihan di rumah TUHAN di Yerusalem, maka tentulah hati bangsa ini akan berbalik kepada tuan mereka, yaitu Rehabeam, raja Yehuda, kemudian mereka akan membunuh aku dan akan kembali kepada Rehabeam, raja Yehuda."
(27) 백성은 앞으로도 예루살렘에 있는 여호와의 성전으로 제사드리러 갈 것이다. 그렇게 가다 보면 그들의 마음이 다시 유다 왕 르호보암에게 기울어질지도 모른다. 결국 그들은 나를 죽이고 유다 왕 르호보암을 따를 것이다.’
(27) If these people go up to the house of the LORD in Jerusalem to offer sacrifices, then their heart will turn to their lord, to Rehoboam king of Judah; and they will kill me and return to Rehoboam king of Judah."
(28) Sesudah menimbang-nimbang, maka raja membuat dua anak lembu jantan dari emas dan ia berkata kepada mereka: "Sudah cukup lamanya kamu pergi ke Yerusalem. Hai Israel, lihatlah sekarang allah-allahmu, yang telah menuntun engkau keluar dari tanah Mesir."
(28) 여로보암 왕은 신하들과 의논한 끝에 금송아지 두 개를 만들고 백성에게 말했습니다. “예루살렘으로 가서 예배드리는 것은 너무 어려운 일이다. 이스라엘아, 너희를 이집트에서 인도해 내신 너희의 신이 여기에 계시다.”
(28) So the king took counsel [and followed bad advice] and made two calves of gold. And he said to the people, "It is too much for you to go [all the way] up to Jerusalem; behold your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt."
(29) Lalu ia menaruh lembu yang satu di Betel dan yang lain ditempatkannya di Dan.
(29) 여로보암 왕은 금송아지 하나를 벧엘 성에 두고 다른 하나는 단 성에 두었습니다.
(29) He set the one [golden calf] in Bethel, and the other he put in Dan.
(30) Maka hal itu menyebabkan orang berdosa, sebab rakyat pergi ke Betel menyembah patung yang satu dan ke Dan menyembah patung yang lain.
(30) 이 일은 여호와께 매우 큰 죄가 되었습니다. 백성은 단까지 가서 그 곳의 금송아지 앞에 예배드렸습니다.
(30) Now this thing became a sin [for Israel]; because the people went to worship before the one [or the other of them] as far as Dan.
(31) Ia membuat juga kuil-kuil di atas bukit-bukit pengorbanan, dan mengangkat imam-imam dari kalangan rakyat yang bukan dari bani Lewi.
(31) 여로보암은 여러 산당을 지었습니다. 그리고 레위 사람이 아닌 보통 백성 가운데서 제사장을 뽑았습니다.
(31) And Jeroboam also made houses on high places, and he made priests from all people who were not of the sons (descendants) of Levi.
(32) Kemudian Yerobeam menentukan suatu hari raya pada hari yang kelima belas bulan kedelapan, sama seperti hari raya yang di Yehuda, dan ia sendiri naik tangga mezbah itu. Begitulah dibuatnya di Betel, yakni ia mempersembahkan korban kepada anak-anak lembu yang telah dibuatnya itu, dan ia menugaskan di Betel imam-imam bukit pengorbanan yang telah diangkatnya.
(32) 여로보암은 여덟째 달 십오 일에 새로운 절기를 정했습니다. 그 절기는 유다의 절기와 비슷하게 지켜졌습니다. 여로보암은 그 절기 때에 제단 위에 제물을 바쳤습니다. 그리고 그는 그가 만든 벧엘의 송아지에게 제물을 바쳤습니다. 그는 또 그가 뽑은 산당의 제사장들을 벧엘의 제사장으로 일하게 했습니다.
(32) Jeroboam held a feast on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, like the feast which is kept in Judah, and he went up to the altar; he did this in Bethel, sacrificing to the calves which he had made. And he stationed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.
(33) Ia naik tangga mezbah yang dibuatnya di Betel itu pada hari yang kelima belas dalam bulan yang kedelapan, dalam bulan yang telah direncanakannya dalam hatinya sendiri; ia menentukan suatu hari raya bagi orang Israel dan ia naik tangga mezbah itu untuk membakar korban.
(33) 여로보암은 자기 마음대로 정한 여덟째 달 십오 일 절기 때에 자기가 만든 벧엘의 제단에 가서 제물을 바쳤습니다. 이처럼 그는 이스라엘 백성을 위해 절기를 정하고 제단으로 올라가 향을 피웠습니다.
(33) So he went up to the altar which he had made in Bethel on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, in the month which he had devised in his own heart [in defiance of God's commandments]; and he held a feast for the Israelites and he went up to the altar to burn incense [in defiance of God's law.]
