7:1-22 = Hikmat yang benar
(1) Nama yang harum lebih baik dari pada minyak yang mahal, dan hari kematian lebih baik dari pada hari kelahiran.
(1) 좋은 이름이 값진 향수보다 낫고, 죽는 날이 태어나는 날보다 낫다.
(1) {Wisdom and Folly Contrasted}A good name is better than precious perfume, And the day of one's death better than the day of one's birth.
(2) Pergi ke rumah duka lebih baik dari pada pergi ke rumah pesta, karena di rumah dukalah kesudahan setiap manusia; hendaknya orang yang hidup memperhatikannya.
(2) 초상집에 가는 것이 잔칫집에 가는 것보다 낫다. 이는 모든 사람이 죽을 것이기 때문이다. 살아 있는 사람은 이것을 명심해야 한다.
(2) It is better to go to the house of mourning Than to go to the house of feasting, For that [day of death] is the end of every man, And the living will take it to heart and solemnly ponder its meaning.
(3) Bersedih lebih baik dari pada tertawa, karena muka muram membuat hati lega.
(3) 또한 슬픔이 웃음보다 낫다. 왜냐하면 슬픈 안색이 마음에는 약이기 때문이다.
(3) Sorrow is better than laughter, For when a face is sad (deep in thought) the heart may be happy [because it is growing in wisdom].
(4) Orang berhikmat senang berada di rumah duka, tetapi orang bodoh senang berada di rumah tempat bersukaria.
(4) 지혜자의 마음은 죽을 때를 생각하지만, 어리석은 자들은 즐길 생각만 한다.
(4) The heart of the wise [learns when it] is in the house of mourning, But the heart of fools is [senseless] in the house of pleasure.
(5) Mendengar hardikan orang berhikmat lebih baik dari pada mendengar nyanyian orang bodoh.
(5) 지혜자의 꾸지람을 듣는 것이 어리석은 자들의 칭송을 받는 것보다 낫다.
(5) It is better to listen to the rebuke of the wise man and pursue wisdom Than for one to listen to the song of fools and pursue stupidity.
(6) Karena seperti bunyi duri terbakar di bawah kuali, demikian tertawa orang bodoh. Inipun sia-sia.
(6) 어리석은 자들의 웃음소리는 가마솥을 달구는 가시나무 타는 소리와 같다. 이것 역시 허무하다.
(6) For like the crackling of [burning] thorn bushes under a pot, So is the laughter of the fool; And this too is vanity (futility).
(7) Sungguh, pemerasan membodohkan orang berhikmat, dan uang suap merusakkan hati.
(7) 탐욕이 지혜로운 자를 어리석게 만들고 뇌물이 그 마음을 어둡게 한다.
(7) For oppression makes a wise man foolish, And a bribe corrupts the [good judgment of the] heart.
(8) Akhir suatu hal lebih baik dari pada awalnya. Panjang sabar lebih baik dari pada tinggi hati.
(8) 일의 끝이 시작보다 낫고, 인내가 마음의 교만보다 낫다.
(8) The end of a matter is better than its beginning; Patience of spirit is better than haughtiness of spirit (pride).
(9) Janganlah lekas-lekas marah dalam hati, karena amarah menetap dalam dada orang bodoh.
(9) 네 급한 마음으로 화내지 마라. 왜냐하면 화는 어리석은 자의 품 속에 머물기 때문이다.
(9) Do not be eager in your heart to be angry, For anger dwells in the heart of fools.
(10) Janganlah mengatakan: "Mengapa zaman dulu lebih baik dari pada zaman sekarang?" Karena bukannya berdasarkan hikmat engkau menanyakan hal itu.
(10) “옛날이 지금보다 훨씬 좋은 것은 웬일이죠?”라고 말하지 마라. 그런 질문은 어리석다.
(10) Do not say, "Why were the old days better than these?" For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this.
(11) Hikmat adalah sama baiknya dengan warisan dan merupakan suatu keuntungan bagi orang-orang yang melihat matahari.
(11) 지혜는 재산처럼 좋은 것이고, 해 아래 사는 사람에게 혜택을 준다.
(11) Wisdom along with an inheritance is good And an [excellent] advantage for those who see the sun.
(12) Karena perlindungan hikmat adalah seperti perlindungan uang. Dan beruntunglah yang mengetahui bahwa hikmat memelihara hidup pemilik-pemiliknya.
(12) 지혜도 사람을 보호하고 돈도 사람을 보호해 주지만, 지혜가 돈보다 나은 것은 생명을 주기 때문이다.
(12) For wisdom is a protection even as money is a protection, But the [excellent] advantage of knowledge is that wisdom shields and preserves the lives of its possessors.
(13) Perhatikanlah pekerjaan Allah! Siapakah dapat meluruskan apa yang telah dibengkokkan-Nya?
(13) 하나님께서 하시는 일을 살펴보아라. 그가 굽게 하신 것을 누가 바르게 할 수 있을까?
(13) Consider the work of God: Who can make straight what He has bent?
(14) Pada hari mujur bergembiralah, tetapi pada hari malang ingatlah, bahwa hari malang inipun dijadikan Allah seperti juga hari mujur, supaya manusia tidak dapat menemukan sesuatu mengenai masa depannya.
(14) 형통한 날에는 기뻐하고, 재앙의 날에는 살펴보아라. 이 모든 날들은 하나님께서 만드신 것이다. 그래서 사람들은 자기 미래를 알지 못한다.
(14) In the day of prosperity be joyful, But in the day of adversity consider that God has made the one as well as the other, So that man will not find out anything that will be after him.
(15) Dalam hidupku yang sia-sia aku telah melihat segala hal ini: ada orang saleh yang binasa dalam kesalehannya, ada orang fasik yang hidup lama dalam kejahatannya.
(15) 나는 내 허무한 인생을 살면서 이런저런 일을 다 보았다. 의로운 생활을 하면서도 망하는 의인이 있는가 하면, 죄악된 생활을 하면서도 오래 사는 악인이 있다.
(15) I have seen everything during my [fleeting] days of futility; there is a righteous man who perishes in [spite of] his righteousness, and there is a wicked man who lives a long life in [spite of] his wickedness.
(16) Janganlah terlalu saleh, janganlah perilakumu terlalu berhikmat; mengapa engkau akan membinasakan dirimu sendiri?
(16) 지나치게 의로운 체하지 말고, 지나치게 지혜로운 체하지 마라. 그러다가 망할 필요는 없지 않은가?
(16) Do not be excessively righteous [like those given to self-conceit], and do not be overly wise (pretentious)—why should you bring yourself to ruin?
(17) Janganlah terlalu fasik, janganlah bodoh! Mengapa engkau mau mati sebelum waktumu?
(17) 지나치게 악하게 굴지 마라. 어리석은 자처럼 굴지도 마라. 어찌하여 제 수명을 다 채우지도 못하고 죽으려 하는가?
(17) Do not be excessively or willfully wicked and do not be a fool. Why should you die before your time?
(18) Adalah baik kalau engkau memegang yang satu, dan juga tidak melepaskan yang lain, karena orang yang takut akan Allah luput dari kedua-duanya.
(18) 이것도 잡고, 저것도 놓지 않는 것이 좋다. 하나님을 경외하는 자는 이 모든 극단을 피할 것이다.
(18) It is good that you take hold of one thing (righteousness) and also not let go of the other (wisdom); for the one who fears and worships God [with awe-filled reverence] will come forth with both of them.
(19) Hikmat memberi kepada yang memilikinya lebih banyak kekuatan dari pada sepuluh penguasa dalam kota.
(19) 지혜가 주는 힘은 한 성을 지키는 열 장군의 힘보다 강하다.
(19) Wisdom strengthens the wise man more than ten rulers who are in a city.
(20) Sesungguhnya, di bumi tidak ada orang yang saleh: yang berbuat baik dan tak pernah berbuat dosa!
(20) 제아무리 의롭다 해도, 죄짓지 않는 사람은 세상에 없다.
(20) Indeed, there is not a righteous man on earth who always does good and who never sins.
(21) Juga janganlah memperhatikan segala perkataan yang diucapkan orang, supaya engkau tidak mendengar pelayanmu mengutuki engkau.
(21) 누가 뭐라 하건, 모두 알려고 하지 마라. 그러다가 네 종이 너를 저주하는 말까지 들을까 두렵다.
(21) Also, do not take seriously everything that is said, so that you will not hear your servant cursing you,
(22) Karena hatimu tahu bahwa engkau juga telah kerapkali mengutuki orang-orang lain.
(22) 너도 알다시피, 때로는 너도 남을 저주하지 않았느냐?
(22) for you also know that you too have cursed others many times.
7:23 - 8:1 = Pengejaran hikmat yang mengecewakan
(23) Kesemuanya ini telah kuuji untuk mencapai hikmat. Kataku: "Aku hendak memperoleh hikmat," tetapi hikmat itu jauh dari padaku.
(23) 이 모든 것을 알고자 나는 지혜를 써서 시험하였다. ‘정말 지혜롭게 행동해야지’라고 했지만, 그렇게 하기는 어려웠다.
(23) I have tested all this with wisdom. I said, "I will be wise [independently of God]," but true wisdom was far from me.
(24) Apa yang ada, itu jauh dan dalam, sangat dalam, siapa yang dapat menemukannya?
(24) 세상 일을 알기란 너무나 어렵고, 이해하는 것 역시 곤란하다. 누가 과연 이를 다 알 수 있으랴?
(24) Whatever has been is far off, deeply remote and exceedingly mysterious. Who can discover it [for it is beyond the grasp of man]?
(25) Aku tujukan perhatianku untuk memahami, menyelidiki, dan mencari hikmat dan kesimpulan, serta untuk mengetahui bahwa kefasikan itu kebodohan dan kebebalan itu kegilaan.
(25) 나는 거듭 마음에 작정하고 지혜와 세상 이치를 깨닫고자 공부하고, 탐구하고, 연구하였다. 그리고 악하게 사는 일이 어리석고, 어리석음이 미친 짓임을 알았다.
(25) I turned around and directed my heart to know, to investigate and to seek [skillful and godly] wisdom and the reason for things, and to know that wickedness is folly and that foolishness is madness [leading to stupidity and recklessness].
(26) Dan aku menemukan sesuatu yang lebih pahit dari pada maut: perempuan yang adalah jala, yang hatinya adalah jerat dan tangannya adalah belenggu. Orang yang dikenan Allah terhindar dari padanya, tetapi orang yang berdosa ditangkapnya.
(26) 내가 깨우친 것은, 마음이 함정과 그물 같고, 그 손이 사슬과 같은 여인은 죽음보다 무섭다는 것이다. 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 사람은 그 여인을 피하나, 죄인은 그녀의 함정에 걸리고 만다.
(26) And I discovered that [of all irrational sins none has been so destructive in beguiling one away from God as immoral women for] more bitter than death is the woman whose heart is [composed of] snares and nets, and whose hands are chains. Whoever pleases God will escape from her, but the sinner will be taken captive by her [evil].
(27) Lihatlah, ini yang kudapati, kata Pengkhotbah: Sementara menyatukan yang satu dengan yang lain untuk mendapat kesimpulan,
(27) 설교자가 말한다. “자, 이것이 내가 깨우친 것이다. 이것저것을 살펴 전부를 깨치고자 하였다.
(27) "Behold, I have discovered this," says the Preacher, "while adding one thing to another to find an explanation,
(28) yang masih kucari tetapi tidak kudapati, kudapati seorang laki-laki di antara seribu, tetapi tidak kudapati seorang perempuan di antara mereka.
(28) 지금도 찾고 있지만 아직까지 완전히 깨치지는 못하였다. 천 명의 남자들 중에서 의로운 사람 한 명을 찾았으나, 여인들 중에서는 한 명도 찾지 못하였다.
(28) which I am still seeking but have not found. I have found one man among a thousand [who pleases God], but I have not found [such] a woman among all these [a thousand in my harem].
(29) Lihatlah, hanya ini yang kudapati: bahwa Allah telah menjadikan manusia yang jujur, tetapi mereka mencari banyak dalih.
(29) 내가 깨우친 한 가지는 하나님께서 사람을 정직하게 만드셨지만, 사람들이 많은 꾀를 찾았다는 것이다.”
(29) Behold, I have found only this [as a reason]: God made man upright and uncorrupted, but they [both men and women] have sought out many devices [for evil]."
