3:1-13 = Kabar baik yang dibawa oleh Timotius
(1) Kami tidak dapat tahan lagi, karena itu kami mengambil keputusan untuk tinggal seorang diri di Atena.
(1) 우리가 당장 가 볼 수는 없으나 그냥 기다리기에는 너무 힘이 들었습니다. 그래서 우리는 아테네에 있고,
(1) {Encouragement of Timothy's Visit}Therefore, when we could no longer endure our separation [from you], we thought it best to be left behind, alone at Athens,
(2) Lalu kami mengirim Timotius, saudara yang bekerja dengan kami untuk Allah dalam pemberitaan Injil Kristus, untuk menguatkan hatimu dan menasihatkan kamu tentang imanmu,
(2) 디모데를 여러분에게 보내기로 결정했습니다. 형제 디모데는 우리를 도와 그리스도의 복음을 전하며, 하나님을 위해 우리와 함께 일하고 있습니다. 그가 여러분을 굳세게 하고, 믿음 안에서 여러분을 위로해 줄 것입니다.
(2) and so we sent Timothy, our brother and God's servant in [spreading] the good news of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you [exhorting, comforting, and establishing you] in regard to your faith,
(3) supaya jangan ada orang yang goyang imannya karena kesusahan-kesusahan ini. Kamu sendiri tahu, bahwa kita ditentukan untuk itu.
(3) 우리가 그를 보낸 것은, 여러분 중에 그 어느 누구도 우리가 당하는 고난 때문에 믿음이 흔들리지 않게 하기 위함입니다. 여러분은 우리가 이러한 고난을 받아야 한다는 것을 잘 알고 있을 것입니다.
(3) so that no one would be unsettled by these difficulties [to which I have referred]. For you know that we have been destined for this [as something unavoidable in our position].
(4) Sebab, juga waktu kami bersama-sama dengan kamu, telah kami katakan kepada kamu, bahwa kita akan mengalami kesusahan. Dan hal itu, seperti kamu tahu, telah terjadi.
(4) 우리가 여러분과 함께 있을 때에, 우리 모두 언젠가는 고난을 받을 때가 있을 것이라고 말했던 것을 기억하실 것입니다. 지금 그 일이 우리에게 일어나고 있는 것뿐입니다.
(4) For even when we were with you, we warned you plainly in advance that we were going to experience persecution; and so, as you know, it has come to pass.
(5) Itulah sebabnya, maka aku, karena tidak dapat tahan lagi, telah mengirim dia, supaya aku tahu tentang imanmu, karena aku kuatir kalau-kalau kamu telah dicobai oleh si penggoda dan kalau-kalau usaha kami menjadi sia-sia.
(5) 그래서 더 이상 불안해하며 기다릴 수 없어 디모데를 여러분에게 보내 여러분의 믿음의 상태를 알아보았습니다. 그것은 혹시 사탄의 유혹에 넘어가 우리가 한 수고를 헛되게 만들지는 않았는지 걱정되었기 때문입니다.
(5) For this reason, when I could no longer endure the suspense, I sent someone to find out about your faith [how you were holding up under pressure], for fear that somehow the tempter had tempted you and our work [among you] would prove to be ineffective.
(6) Tetapi sekarang, setelah Timotius datang kembali dari kamu dan membawa kabar yang menggembirakan tentang imanmu dan kasihmu, dan bahwa kamu selalu menaruh kenang-kenangan yang baik akan kami dan ingin untuk berjumpa dengan kami, seperti kami juga ingin untuk berjumpa dengan kamu,
(6) 그러나 방금 디모데가 돌아와 여러분의 믿음과 사랑에 대한 기쁜 소식을 전해 주었습니다. 디모데는 여러분이 언제나 우리를 좋게 생각하여, 우리가 여러분을 보고 싶어하는 만큼이나 여러분도 우리를 보고 싶어한다고 말해 주었습니다.
(6) But now that Timothy has come back to us from [his visit with] you, and has brought us good news of your [steadfast] faith and [the warmth of your] love, and [reported] that you always think kindly of us and treasure your memories of us, longing to see us just as we long to see you,
(7) maka kami juga, saudara-saudara, dalam segala kesesakan dan kesukaran kami menjadi terhibur oleh kamu dan oleh imanmu.
(7) 형제 여러분, 우리는 많은 어려움과 고난을 겪을 때, 여러분의 믿음으로 위로를 받았습니다.
(7) for this reason, brothers and sisters, during all our distress and suffering we have been comforted and greatly encouraged about you because of your faith [your unwavering trust in God—placing yourselves completely in His loving hands];
(8) Sekarang kami hidup kembali, asal saja kamu teguh berdiri di dalam Tuhan.
(8) 여러분이 주님 안에서 굳건히 서 있기만 한다면, 그보다 더 큰 보람은 없습니다.
(8) because now we really live [in spite of everything], if you stand firm in the Lord.
(9) Sebab ucapan syukur apakah yang dapat kami persembahkan kepada Allah atas segala sukacita, yang kami peroleh karena kamu, di hadapan Allah kita?
(9) 이 모든 것으로 인해 우리가 기뻐하고, 하나님 앞에 감사를 드립니다. 그러나 이 모든 기쁨과 감사를 어떻게 다 표현할 수 있겠습니까?
(9) For what [adequate] thanks can we offer to God for you in return for all the joy and delight we have before our God on your account?
(10) Siang malam kami berdoa sungguh-sungguh, supaya kita bertemu muka dengan muka dan menambahkan apa yang masih kurang pada imanmu.
(10) 밤낮으로 여러분을 위하여 온 맘을 다해 하나님께 기도하고 있습니다. 여러분을 하루 빨리 다시 만나 여러분의 믿음을 더 강건하게 세워 줄 수 있게 되기를 기도합니다.
(10) We continue to pray night and day most earnestly that we may see you face to face, and may complete whatever may be imperfect and lacking in your faith.
(11) Kiranya Dia, Allah dan Bapa kita, dan Yesus, Tuhan kita, membukakan kami jalan kepadamu.
(11) 아버지 하나님과 우리 주 예수님께서 우리가 여러분에게 갈 수 있는 길을 열어 주시기를 간절히 바랍니다.
(11) Now may our God and Father Himself, and Jesus our Lord guide our steps to you [by removing the obstacles that stand in our way].
(12) Dan kiranya Tuhan menjadikan kamu bertambah-tambah dan berkelimpahan dalam kasih seorang terhadap yang lain dan terhadap semua orang, sama seperti kami juga mengasihi kamu.
(12) 주님께서 여러분의 사랑을 풍성하게 하고 넘치게 하셔서 우리가 여러분을 사랑하듯 서로 사랑하기를 기도합니다.
(12) And may the Lord cause you to increase and excel and overflow in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you;
(13) Kiranya Dia menguatkan hatimu, supaya tak bercacat dan kudus, di hadapan Allah dan Bapa kita pada waktu kedatangan Yesus, Tuhan kita, dengan semua orang kudus-Nya.
(13) 그리고 믿음 안에서 여러분의 마음이 강해지기를 기도합니다. 그러면 우리 주 예수님께서 주님의 거룩한 백성들과 함께 다시 오시는 날, 여러분은 아버지 하나님 앞에서 거룩하고 흠없이 서게 될 것입니다.
(13) so that He may strengthen and establish your hearts without blame in holiness in the sight of our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints (God's people).
