4:1-6 = Roh Allah dan roh antikristus
(1) Saudara-saudaraku yang kekasih, janganlah percaya akan setiap roh, tetapi ujilah roh-roh itu, apakah mereka berasal dari Allah; sebab banyak nabi-nabi palsu yang telah muncul dan pergi ke seluruh dunia.
(1) 사랑하는 친구들이여, 많은 거짓 예언자들이 지금 이 세상에 있습니다. 그러므로 모든 영을 다 믿지는 말기 바랍니다. 그 영들이 하나님으로부터 온 것인지 아닌지 시험해 보십시오.
(1) {Testing the Spirits}Beloved, do not believe every spirit [speaking through a self-proclaimed prophet]; instead test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets and teachers have gone out into the world.
(2) Demikianlah kita mengenal Roh Allah: setiap roh yang mengaku, bahwa Yesus Kristus telah datang sebagai manusia, berasal dari Allah,
(2) 하나님의 영을 알 수 있는 방법은 다음과 같습니다. 어떤 영이 말하기를, “나는 예수님께서 이 땅에 사람으로 오셨음을 믿습니다”라고 얘기하면, 그 영은 하나님께로부터 온 것입니다.
(2) By this you know and recognize the Spirit of God: every spirit that acknowledges and confesses [the fact] that Jesus Christ has [actually] come in the flesh [as a man] is from God [God is its source];
(3) dan setiap roh, yang tidak mengaku Yesus, tidak berasal dari Allah. Roh itu adalah roh antikristus dan tentang dia telah kamu dengar, bahwa ia akan datang dan sekarang ini ia sudah ada di dalam dunia.
(3) 그러나 예수님에 대해 이렇게 말하는 것을 인정하지 않으면, 그 영은 하나님으로부터 온 것이 아니며, 그리스도의 적으로부터 온 것입니다. 여러분은 그리스도의 적이 오리라는 말을 들었을 것입니다. 이미 그들은 이 세상에 와 있습니다.
(3) and every spirit that does not confess Jesus [acknowledging that He has come in the flesh, but would deny any of the Son's true nature] is not of God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and is now already in the world.
(4) Kamu berasal dari Allah, anak-anakku, dan kamu telah mengalahkan nabi-nabi palsu itu; sebab Roh yang ada di dalam kamu, lebih besar dari pada roh yang ada di dalam dunia.
(4) 사랑하는 자녀들이여, 여러분은 하나님께 속하였으니, 이미 그들을 이겼습니다. 왜냐하면 여러분 안에 계신 분이 세상에 있는 어떤 자보다 위대한 분이시기 때문입니다.
(4) Little children (believers, dear ones), you are of God and you belong to Him and have [already] overcome them [the agents of the antichrist]; because He who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world [of sinful mankind].
(5) Mereka berasal dari dunia; sebab itu mereka berbicara tentang hal-hal duniawi dan dunia mendengarkan mereka.
(5) 거짓 예언자들은 세상에 속한 사람들입니다. 그들이 말하는 것은 세상으로부터 온 것이며, 세상은 그들의 말을 듣습니다.
(5) They [who teach twisted doctrine] are of the world and belong to it; therefore they speak from the [viewpoint of the] world [with its immoral freedom and baseless theories—demanding compliance with their opinions and ridiculing the values of the upright], and the [gullible one of the] world listens closely and pays attention to them.
(6) Kami berasal dari Allah: barangsiapa mengenal Allah, ia mendengarkan kami; barangsiapa tidak berasal dari Allah, ia tidak mendengarkan kami. Itulah tandanya Roh kebenaran dan roh yang menyesatkan.
(6) 그러나 우리는 하나님께로부터 왔습니다. 하나님을 아는 사람들은 우리의 말을 듣지만, 하나님께로부터 오지 않은 사람들은 우리의 말을 듣지 않을 것입니다. 이것으로 우리는 진리의 영과 거짓의 영을 구별할 수 있습니다.
(6) We [who teach God's word] are from God [energized by the Holy Spirit], and whoever knows God [through personal experience] listens to us [and has a deeper understanding of Him]. Whoever is not of God does not listen to us. By this we know [without any doubt] the spirit of truth [motivated by God] and the spirit of error [motivated by Satan].
4:7-21 = Allah adalah kasih
(7) Saudara-saudaraku yang kekasih, marilah kita saling mengasihi, sebab kasih itu berasal dari Allah; dan setiap orang yang mengasihi, lahir dari Allah dan mengenal Allah.
(7) 사랑하는 친구들이여, 우리는 서로서로 사랑해야 합니다. 왜냐하면 사랑은 하나님께로부터 오기 때문입니다. 사랑하는 사람은 하나님의 자녀가 된 것이며, 또한 하나님을 안다고 할 수 있습니다.
(7) {God Is Love}Beloved, let us [unselfishly] love and seek the best for one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves [others] is born of God and knows God [through personal experience].
(8) Barangsiapa tidak mengasihi, ia tidak mengenal Allah, sebab Allah adalah kasih.
(8) 하나님은 사랑이시기에, 사랑할 줄 모르는 사람은 하나님을 알지 못하는 자입니다.
(8) The one who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love. [He is the originator of love, and it is an enduring attribute of His nature.]
(9) Dalam hal inilah kasih Allah dinyatakan di tengah-tengah kita, yaitu bahwa Allah telah mengutus Anak-Nya yang tunggal ke dalam dunia, supaya kita hidup oleh-Nya.
(9) 하나님은 그의 독생자를 이 땅에 보내심으로 우리를 향한 그분의 사랑을 보여 주셨으며, 그를 통해 우리에게 생명을 주셨습니다.
(9) By this the love of God was displayed in us, in that God has sent His [One and] only begotten Son [the One who is truly unique, the only One of His kind] into the world so that we might live through Him.
(10) Inilah kasih itu: Bukan kita yang telah mengasihi Allah, tetapi Allah yang telah mengasihi kita dan yang telah mengutus Anak-Nya sebagai pendamaian bagi dosa-dosa kita.
(10) 진실한 사랑이란 하나님을 향한 우리의 사랑이 아니라, 우리를 향한 하나님의 사랑인 것입니다. 하나님은 당신의 아들을 보내셔서 우리의 죄를 위해 화목 제물이 되게 하셨습니다.
(10) In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation [that is, the atoning sacrifice, and the satisfying offering] for our sins [fulfilling God's requirement for justice against sin and placating His wrath].
(11) Saudara-saudaraku yang kekasih, jikalau Allah sedemikian mengasihi kita, maka haruslah kita juga saling mengasihi.
(11) 사랑하는 친구 여러분! 하나님께서 이처럼 우리를 사랑해 주셨으니 우리 역시 서로를 사랑해야만 합니다.
(11) Beloved, if God so loved us [in this incredible way], we also ought to love one another.
(12) Tidak ada seorangpun yang pernah melihat Allah. Jika kita saling mengasihi, Allah tetap di dalam kita, dan kasih-Nya sempurna di dalam kita.
(12) 어느 누구도 여태까지 하나님을 본 적이 없습니다. 그러나 우리가 서로서로 사랑하면, 하나님께서 우리 안에 거하십니다. 우리가 서로 사랑할 때, 하나님의 사랑은 우리 안에서 완전해질 것입니다.
(12) No one has seen God at any time. But if we love one another [with unselfish concern], God abides in us, and His love [the love that is His essence abides in us and] is completed and perfected in us.
(13) Demikianlah kita ketahui, bahwa kita tetap berada di dalam Allah dan Dia di dalam kita: Ia telah mengaruniakan kita mendapat bagian dalam Roh-Nya.
(13) 우리는 우리가 하나님 안에서 살고, 하나님께서 우리 안에 계신다는 사실을 알고 있습니다. 이는 하나님께서 우리에게 주신 그의 성령을 통해 알 수 있습니다.
(13) By this we know [with confident assurance] that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given to us His [Holy] Spirit.
(14) Dan kami telah melihat dan bersaksi, bahwa Bapa telah mengutus Anak-Nya menjadi Juruselamat dunia.
(14) 우리는 아버지께서 그의 아들을 세상의 구주로 보내신 것을 보았고, 또 그것을 증언합니다.
(14) We [who were with Him in person] have seen and testify [as eye-witnesses] that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.
(15) Barangsiapa mengaku, bahwa Yesus adalah Anak Allah, Allah tetap berada di dalam dia dan dia di dalam Allah.
(15) 만약 누구든지 “나는 예수님께서 하나님의 아들이심을 믿어요”라고 얘기하면, 하나님께서는 그 사람 안에 거하시고, 그는 하나님 안에 살게 됩니다.
(15) Whoever confesses and acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
(16) Kita telah mengenal dan telah percaya akan kasih Allah kepada kita. Allah adalah kasih, dan barangsiapa tetap berada di dalam kasih, ia tetap berada di dalam Allah dan Allah di dalam dia.
(16) 이로써 우리는 하나님께서 우리를 위해 베푸신 그 사랑을 알 수 있고, 그 사랑을 굳게 믿을 수 있습니다. 하나님은 사랑이십니다. 사랑 안에 사는 사람은 하나님 안에 사는 사람이며, 하나님도 그 사람 안에 계십니다.
(16) We have come to know [by personal observation and experience], and have believed [with deep, consistent faith] the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides continually in him.
(17) Dalam hal inilah kasih Allah sempurna di dalam kita, yaitu kalau kita mempunyai keberanian percaya pada hari penghakiman, karena sama seperti Dia, kita juga ada di dalam dunia ini.
(17) 하나님의 사랑이 우리 안에 완전해질 때, 우리는 하나님께서 심판하시는 그 날에 아무 두려움 없이 설 수 있을 것입니다. 우리에게 어떤 두려움도 있을 수 없는 것은, 우리가 이 세상에서 예수님과 같아지기 때문입니다.
(17) In this [union and fellowship with Him], love is completed and perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him]; because as He is, so are we in this world.
(18) Di dalam kasih tidak ada ketakutan: kasih yang sempurna melenyapkan ketakutan; sebab ketakutan mengandung hukuman dan barangsiapa takut, ia tidak sempurna di dalam kasih.
(18) 사랑이 있는 곳에는 두려움이 없습니다. 왜냐하면 완전한 사랑이 두려움을 내어 쫓기 때문입니다. 사람을 두렵게 만드는 것은 벌을 받을지도 모른다는 마음 때문입니다. 그러므로 두려움을 갖고 있는 사람은 사랑을 완성하지 못한 사람입니다.
(18) There is no fear in love [dread does not exist]. But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear, because fear involves [the expectation of divine] punishment, so the one who is afraid [of God's judgment] is not perfected in love [has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God's love].
(19) Kita mengasihi, karena Allah lebih dahulu mengasihi kita.
(19) 하나님께서 우리를 먼저 사랑해 주셨기 때문에 우리도 사랑해야 합니다.
(19) We love, because He first loved us.
(20) Jikalau seorang berkata: "Aku mengasihi Allah," dan ia membenci saudaranya, maka ia adalah pendusta, karena barangsiapa tidak mengasihi saudaranya yang dilihatnya, tidak mungkin mengasihi Allah, yang tidak dilihatnya.
(20) 어떤 사람이 “나는 하나님을 사랑해요”라고 말하면서 그의 형제를 미워하면, 그는 거짓말쟁이입니다. 이는 눈에 보이는 자기의 형제도 사랑하지 못하면서 보이지 않는 하나님을 사랑할 수는 없기 때문입니다.
(20) If anyone says, "I love God," and hates (works against) his [Christian] brother he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.
(21) Dan perintah ini kita terima dari Dia: Barangsiapa mengasihi Allah, ia harus juga mengasihi saudaranya.
(21) 그러므로 하나님께서는 누구든지 하나님을 사랑하는 사람은 자기 형제들도 사랑해야 한다고 우리에게 명령하셨습니다.
(21) And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should also [unselfishly] love his brother and seek the best for him.
